چکیده

A super-cell system consists of computing cells which are organized hierarchically by the inclusion relation: cells may include cells, which again may include cells, etc. Each cell is enclosed by its membrane. Each cell is an independent computing agent with its own computing program, which produces objects. The interaction between cells consists of the exchange of objects through membranes. The output of a computation is a partially ordered set of objects which leave the super-cell through its external membrane. The fundamental properties of computations in such super-cell systems with external output are investigated. These include the computing power, normal forms, and basic decision problems.

Cell Deformation Modeling Under External Force Using Artificial Neural Network

Embryogenesis, regeneration and cell differentiation in microbiological entities are influenced by mechanical forces. Therefore, development of mechanical properties of these materials is important. Neural network technique is a useful method which can be used to obtain cell deformation by the means of force-geometric deformation data or vice versa. Prior to insertion in the needle injection pr...

Polarizationless P Systems with One Active Membrane

The aim of this paper is to study the computational power of P systems with one active membrane without polarizations. For P systems with active membranes, it is known that computational completeness can be obtained with either of the following combinations of features: 1)two polarizations, 2)membrane creation and dissolution, 3)four membranes with three labels, membrane division and dissolutio...

Classifying States of a Finite Markov Chain with Membrane Computing

In this paper we present a method to classify the states of a finite Markov chain through membrane computing. A specific P system with external output is designed for each boolean matrix associated with a finite Markov chain. The computation of the system allows us to decide the convergence of the process because it determines in the environment the classification of the states (recurrent, abso...

Handling Markov Chains with Membrane Computing

In this paper we approach the problem of computing the n–th power of the transition matrix of an arbitrary Markov chain through membrane computing. The proposed solution is described in a semi–uniform way in the framework of P systems with external output. The amount of resources required in the construction is polynomial in the number of states of the Markov chain and in the power. The time of...

Review of the methods for evaluating congestion in DEA and computing output losses due to congestion

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a branch of management, concerned with evaluating the performances of homogeneous Decision Making Units (DMUs). The performances of DMUs are affected by the amount of sources that DMUs used. Usually increases in inputs cause increases in outputs. However, there are situations where increase in one or more inputs generate a reduction in one or more outputs. In ...
